我喜欢武汉的傍晚
下课后不急着回去的那一段时间，树、玻璃窗和路上的人都比较好拍。
Why I like Wuhan at dusk
我最常拍照的时间是傍晚。不是特意等“黄金时刻”，只是那时刚好下课，手上的事告一段落，可以在回去前多走一段。
武汉白天的光很硬，到了傍晚，树影和玻璃上的反光没有那么抢眼。路上的人还很多，大家的速度却开始不一样：有人赶着回去，有人买杯喝的，坐在路边休息。
有些晚霞只亮两三分钟。我通常来不及找最好的位置，就在当时站的地方拍。照片可能不够规整，但以后看到它，我会记得那天是从哪栋楼出来、准备往哪里走。
我喜欢傍晚，是因为它刚好给一天留了一小段没有安排的时间。我的很多武汉照片，都是在这段时间里拍到的。

Dusk is when I photograph most often. I do not wait deliberately for golden hour; it simply happens to be when class is over and I can take a longer route before going back.
The daytime light in Wuhan can be hard. Toward evening, shadows under the trees and reflections on glass compete less for attention. The roads are still busy, but people move at different speeds: some hurry home, while others buy a drink and sit for a while.
Some sunsets last only two or three minutes. I rarely have time to find the best position, so I photograph from where I happen to be. The frame may not be perfect, but later it reminds me which building I had just left and where I was going.
What I like is not the idea that every evening is beautiful. It is the small unplanned interval that dusk leaves inside a day. Many of my photographs of Wuhan were made during that time.
